important remarks

Comments given below are OA intended to reduce the amount of toxic flatworm bodily fluids in the water.

Many people have successfully treated their reef aquarium(s) using exit Flatworm without any problems. The most important factors are reducing the number of flatworms before starting treatment and reducing the amount of bodily fluids the flatworms release when they die as quickly as possible.

Do not underestimate the number of worms on your system. In some cases, a significant number of flatworms may be hidden in cracks, for example. Remains of such and any other potential water hiding places to blow any worms out of there. For this you can use a motor or a syringe. Siphon out those flatworms too.

Also, don't underestimate the amount of toxic bodily fluids these worms can excrete. This can be significantly reduced by actually siphoning out the flatworms before starting treatment. Significant addition reduction is accomplished by siphoning out as many dead worms as you can.

Any bodily fluids released by dead flatworms into the water have to be further reduced by using approximately 1 pound of high quality fresh carbon for every 50 gallons. The charcoal has to be used in a container with a sufficient forced water flow.

Take plenty of time to treat the tank. That is, you do not treat your tank in a hurry. Also take time to monitor your tank for at least 6 hours after treatment.

It is also wise to have at least 25% water ready for a water change if necessary.
